Year 1

Whether you’re an artist, designer or programmer you’ll be provided with a solid grounding in the 3 key areas of game development, to enable progression into any career within the computer games industry.

Game Art

Game Programming

  • Programming Languages and Architecture
  • 3D Maths and Physics Concepts
  • Artificial Intelligence, Audio, and Networking Overview


Year 2

Year 2 allows you to specialise in the area of game development that most interests you. The course is tailored to suit your specific requirements and is split into three distinct paths. This year is projected oriented and very practical.

In year two you specialise in either Game Art, Games Design OR Game Programming

Entry is possible directly into Year 2 for candidates who have suitable previous experience.

Year 3

Year 3 culminates in a year-long game development project. Utilising all the skills learnt during your previous 2 years of study you will be working towards creating a full release title for the platform of your choice - pushing the limits of the technology, and establishing yourself as a credible games developer.

Projects will be conducted in development teams comprised of both second and third year students, with third-year students taking more senior roles in the team. With complete freedom over tools, technology, platform and concept, your final project will represent the combined skill and knowledge of your Diploma studies, and will result in the creation of a releasable title and a superb portfolio piece.

Entry is possible directly into Year 3 for candidates who have suitable previous experience.
