Overview

This degree teaches you the techniques and technology used to create high quality digital visual effects, giving you the skills required to work in post production - one of the youngest and most exciting areas of the film and television industry. You will be taught using the most up-to-date equipment, in an environment that replicates a professional post-production house.

The early stages of the course give a working knowledge of the entire production process, before moving on to key production and post-production skills such as digital film-making, compositing, editing, motion graphics, effects and CGI. Students work as individuals and in teams, replicating the real post-production industry.

You will graduate with a rich portfolio of work that will showcase your technical, artistic and teamworking abilities, all of which are highly sought after by the industry. You'll enter a dynamic, creative and fast moving profession where you'll use those skills to bring to life television programmes, commercial productions and films.

Level 1

Sample content: Introduction to the Production Process, Introduction to Non-Linear Editing, Using Audio, Visual Content Creation, First Year Project, 3D Character Creation and Motion.

Level 2

Sample content: Post Production Processes, Advanced Editing, Motion Graphics and Titling, Compositing and On Screen Effects,Work-based learning, Client Handling Skills,Individual Project, Multi Year Project.
