Futureworks hosts Ableton Live 8 Tour

May 6th 2009 4pm-6pm

An opportunity for people to come and experience Ableton Live under the tutelage of Futureworks’ resident International DJ/Ableton Live expert, Thom Powell, is just around the corner.

Ableton's much-anticipated Live 8 software is now available, and these workshops represent an opportunity to be amongst the first to see its new features and functions. An Ableton specialist will be on hand to introduce this groundbreaking software to those who haven't yet seen Live in action, with its unique approach to creating and performing music. The workshop will also give existing Live users a chance to explore some of its more advanced features and participate in question and answer sessions.

There will also be various Ableton goodies to give away, as well as exclusive Loopmasters sample disks with over 500MB of copyright-free samples, Ableton free trial disks and much more. Ableton and Novation will also be giving away one of Novation's award-winning Nocturn MIDI controllers worth £90. The prize draw will be open to all those who attend.
Thom Powell has worked with music technology & computers for over 10 years, both as a DJ and live performer and appearing regularly around UK & Europe. As a tutor and technical advisor since 2001, Thom brings a unique blend of production knowledge and compositional talent to the Futureworks team.   

Futureworks has established itself as Manchester's leading training facility for Audio, Film & TV, CGI and Games. Local creative organisations such as BBC, ITV and Cosgrove Hall have employed their services as have countless bands, musicians and artists. Futureworks is currently the exclusive technical sponsor of Manchester's Moves09 Film Festival and lead technical consultant for Manchester Art Gallery's Visual Dialogues installation.
