Futureworks has fun and games in Vancouver
The 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games has called upon Futureworks Media School in Manchester to help broadcast coverage of the popular winter sporting event throughout Europe.
Futureworks’ sound engineering and music production tutor Mike Cacioppo Jr will be leaving Manchester at the end of the month to work in Vancouver for the duration of the Games.
Supporting the European Broadcasting Union, Mike will provide audio and visual technical support to help control the relaying of sound and images of the Games to television audiences across Europe.
Mike commented: “As the broadcast rights holders for the Olympic Games, supporting the European Broadcasting Union for such a globally important event is a massive privilege and a great career boost. It puts me right at the cutting edge of the industry so it’s great that I can bring this experience back with me to Manchester for the benefit of all Futureworks’ students.”
Mike (30) has provided his technical expertise to the past five Olympic Games; the 2008 Beijing Olympics being the most recent.
When he’s not in demand across the globe, Mike is a Digidesign Certified Instructor and head of Apple Certified Training at Futureworks; delivering industry-recognised courses that enable audio specialist professionals to maintain a competitive edge.
Chris Mayo, Managing Director of Futureworks, added: “We’re thrilled that Mike is getting the opportunity to put his technical expertise to the test in Vancouver. This is exactly why we make it our priority to employ active industry professionals as tutors. Not only is it a massive honour that Mike has been approached to give his support for such an internationally-renowned event, but we know he’ll bring back with him some new tricks of the trade that he can pass on through our courses.
