Visual Dialogues:
Futureworks/Manchester Art Gallery Collaboration

Futureworks has again asked to be involved with the Visual Dialogues project,  a partnership programme managed by Tate Britain working with regional museums and galleries.

A team of young people, called the Creative Consultants, has been working with artist Katy McCall to produce new displays that will accompany the current Manchester Art Gallery exhibition Fantasies, Follies and Disasters: The Prints of Francisco de Goya.

The Creative Consultants have used Jake & Dinos Chapman’s sculpture Disasters of War 1993 (in Manchester on loan from Tate) for inspiration and looked to Futureworks for creative and technical support in the making of an audio-visual installation that will be displayed next to the Goya exhibition.

On November 15th the Creative Consultants came for a full tour of the Futureworks facilities - the students worked with filmmaker Amanda Belantara in our newly built Camera Studio - complete with a cyclorama green screen, filming content with one of our Sony Z5 cameras and Arri Redhead lighting.

Futureworks' Apple Certified Final Cut Pro Trainer, Michael Cacioppo Jr is the technical planner for the installation.  He also took care of compositing and editing the content, and finally creating 6 DVDs that will be played on a wall of televisions at the Manchester Art Gallery.

The installation will be on display at the Manchester Art Gallery until July 2010.  Please contact Michael at Futureworks (mike@futureworks.co.uk)  if your organisation requires technical and creative planning for any upcoming creative media projects.
